Ontario - Ministry of Labour Releases New ESA Poster February 09 2018

The Ministry of Labour has revised and released the ESA poster which requires all Employers to post in a conspicuous place where it is likely to come to the attention of all employees.  The revised poster reflects the significant changes that are now in effect due to Bill 148, the Fair Workplaces, Better Jobs Act.  In addition to posting the ESA poster, Employers should be reminded of the following responsibilities:

  • Provide a copy to employees who are covered under the ESA;
  • Provide a copy to new hires within 30 days of hire;
  • Provide a copy of the poster in a language other than English if requested by the employee.

A copy of the new poster has been uploaded and can be found in our “Laws” Section under the title “What You Should Know About the Employment Standards Act Poster Version 7.0”.

Changes to Ontario Employment Standards Poster Requirements April 22 2015

On May 1, 2015, a new version of the Ministry of Labour’s Employment Standards Poster will be published (version 6.0). This replaces version 5.0.

All provincially-regulated employers are required to display the latest version of the ESA poster in at least one conspicuous location in the workplace, such as in the staff lunchroom.

As of May 1, 2015, you can download the poster for free on the Ministry of Labour website.
