Sask. Government Grants 10 Days of Leave from Work to Survivors of Interpersonal Violence February 09 2018
Saskatchewan has introduced legislation that gives employees 10 days of unpaid leave to seek help, relocate or pursue legal remedies after being victimized by “interpersonal violence.” Eligibility extends to an employee, employee’s child or a person the employee is a caregiver for that is a victim of interpersonal or domestic violence.
The 10 days off do not need to be taken all together. They can be spread between a few days off or even a few hours.
Employees must have at least 13 weeks of service to be eligible for the leave. They are also required to provide evidence of the service being received if asked. Legislation makes it mandatory for employers to keep all personal information confidential.
Le gouvernement de la Saskatchewan accorde 10 jours de congé aux victimes de violence interpersonnelle
La Saskatchewan a instauré une loi qui accorde aux employés dix (10) jours de congé non rémunérés pour chercher de l’aide, déménager ou intenter des recours juridiques après avoir été victimes de « violence interpersonnelle ». L’admissibilité s’étend à l’employé, son ou ses enfants ou une personne dont l’employé est gardien qui est victime de violence interpersonnelle ou familiale.
Les dix jours de congé n’ont pas besoin d’être pris dans leur ensemble. Ils peuvent être répartis entre quelques jours de congé ou même quelques heures.
Les employés doivent avoir travaillé pour la société pendant un minimum de treize (13) semaines pour être admissibles au congé. Ils sont également tenus de fournir la preuve de la prestation reçue si exigée. La législation oblige les employeurs à garder confidentiels tous les renseignements personnels.
