Canada-Alberta Job Grant: Information for Employers May 05 2015
Employers can now apply for the Canada-Alberta Job Grant – an innovative, employer-driven approach to help Albertans gain the skills and training they need to fill available jobs.
The Canada-Alberta Job Grant is part of the Government of Canada and Government of Alberta’s commitment to help address skills and training needs and to promote employment and training in high-demand areas.
The training must be incremental, as employers must demonstrate that the training is in addition to normal or pre-existing training which would have taken place regardless of the Job Grant.
Employers in both the private and not-for-profit sectors, which include small and medium-sized businesses, companies that trade on the stock market and organizations acting on behalf of employers such as union halls and industry associations are eligible for this grant.
Employer applicants will cover a minimum of one-third of eligible training costs and the grant will reimburse the remaining two-thirds of the cost, to a maximum of $10,000 per trainee.

Subvention Canada-Alberta pour l’emploi : Renseignements aux employeurs
Employeurs peuvent maintenant présenter une demande au titre de la Subvention Canada-Alberta pour l’emploi – une approche novatrice pilotée par l'employeur pour aider les Albertains à acquérir les compétences et la formation dont ils ont besoin pour combler des emplois disponibles.
La Subvention Canada-Alberta pour l’emploi fait partie de l'engagement du gouvernement du Canada et du gouvernement de l'Alberta à aider à répondre aux besoins de formation et de compétences et promouvoir l'emploi et la formation dans les domaines les plus en demande.
La formation doit être incrémentielle, comme les employeurs doivent démontrer que la formation s'ajoute à la formation normale ou préexistante qui aurait eu lieu indépendamment de la Subvention pour l'emploi.
Les employeurs des secteurs privé et à but non lucratif, qui comprennent les petites et moyennes entreprises, les sociétés inscrites sur les marchés boursiers et les organismes agissant au nom des employeurs tels que les syndicats et les associations d’industries, sont admissibles à cette subvention.
Les employeurs qui présentent une demande devront couvrir au moins le tiers des coûts de formation admissibles et la subvention remboursera les deux autres tiers des coûts, jusqu'à concurrence de 10 000 $ par stagiaire.
